abstract

voltage profile and losses are important factors in a distribution network in which there arevariety of ways to improve them. in this paper, distributed generation (dg) is used as a solutionto improve the above characteristics. backward/forward sweep load flow algorithm is used dueto the inefficiency of usual load flow algorithms because of high r/x ratio and their lack ofconvergence in distribution networks. this algorithm is applied to the system and the best placeto install dg is selected by particle swarm optimization (pso).

Simultaneous Placement of Capacitor and DG in Distribution Networks Using Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm

Nowadays, using distributed generation (DG) resources, such as wind and solar, also improving the voltage profile in distribution companies has been considered. As optimal placement and sizing of shunt capacitors become more prevalent, utilities want to determine the impact of the various capacitors placement in distribution systems. Locating and determining the optimal capacity of shunt capaci...

Optimal Distributed Generation (DG) Allocation in Distribution Networks using an Improved Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) Algorithm

Abstract: The development of distributed generation (DGs) units in recent years have created challenges in the operation of power grids, especially distribution networks. One of these issues is the optimal allocation (location and capacity) of these units in distribution networks. In this thesis, a method based on the improved ant colony optimization algorithm is presented to solve the problem ...

Using Genetic Algorithm for Distributed Generation Allocation to Reduce Losses and Improve Voltage Profile

This paper presents a method for the optimal allocation of Distributed generation in distribution systems. In this paper, our aim would be optimal distributed generation allocation for voltage profile improvement and loss reduction in distribution network. Genetic Algorithm (GA) was used as the solving tool, which referring two determined aim; the problem is defined and objective function is in...

Reviewing the Impact of FACTS Devices to Reduce Losses and Voltage Profile in the Pool Market

Abstract: In this paper, a generalized Lagrangian-based algorithm (TRALM) and gravitational search algorithm (GSA) are used to solve the Optimal Load Distribution Problem (OPF) in the presence of FACTS equipment. Four TCSC, TCPST UPFC and SVC equipment’s have been tested. Modeling of FACTS equipment is based on power injection method. To optimally manage production, losses and voltage profiles,...
